I love poetry! Poetry has been a constant companion throughout my journey. I turn to it when I am sad or in celebration, in need of companionship, inspiration or anchoring to something true. For me poetry is like spiritual food. When I am hungry for guidance and in need of lifting my eyes from the narrows of doubt and fear, poetry is there. The kind of reverence for the moment, and all of life, that so many poets embody has been an antidote to life's challenges and change. Here are some of my favorites!
David Whyte: Everything is waiting for you The well of Grief The journey The opening of eyes Waking John O’Donahue: Poem for a New Beginning Mary Oliver: Sleeping in the forest The journey Wild Geese When death comes Marge Piercy: To be of use Councils Pema Chodron: Genuine broken heart Morgan Farley: Clearning D.H. Lawrence: Escape Antonio Machado: You Walking Dawna Markova: I will not die an unliked life
